Phil and Stevie met in the 80’s,Phil said ‘ I was asked to audition for Steves band,I’d just sold my drums to buy my first car a few months earlier,so a trip to see the bank manager and a new drum kit saw me into the band just weeks later’
Stevie recalls
‘After having Phil join the band it soon became clear that this was a guy that was as completely nuts about music as myself. As a band we’d do anything just to get on stage to perform. Sadly, often we’d be performing to an audience of 10 if you include the couple of stray dogs loitering’
‘As time rolled on there was a definite light-bulb moment where I realised my main interest laid in writing and music production. In 1989/90 I was lucky enough to have the hit song “Dirty Cash – Money Talks” which sold extremely well internationally as well as domestically. Throughout the period I was fortunate to work with many artists including the late Gwen Guthrie, Ruby Turner, Money Love Gwen Mcrae, Gee Morris of Innocence plus many, many more from the U.S and the U.K’. Phil didn’t need much persuading to get the ol muso’s together to form a writing and production team where we showcased up and coming talent to record labels and other interested parties.’
Phil adds ‘We’ve worked together in a music capacity for years and always put the artist out front. However, now its time for the “back-room boys” to move from behind the curtains and show em wot we got!
